DIY Home Sweet Home

Hi Guys! Today I'm going to share my first DIY project for this blog (also my first for this year).

This project  is actually done on the very first day (night to be exact) of January, with my cousin Angela. She came with me at our house just for this. We are really fans of "MyFroggyStuff" in YouTube. It features craft works for dolls, mostly furniture and fancy stuffs your Barbies, Lalaloopsies and cute little dolls can use.

For me, since time began, I am very fond of miniatures. So much for The Sims and scale model houses you see in malls. The history of this came from when we were grade-schoolers. My sister and I will cut out our shoe and cereal boxes and draw, tape, glue cardboard and paper together to make our own dollhouses. It didn't stop there, when outside, we play with sand, soil and stones to build mini towns or even cities (this, we usually do with cousins in Tarlac). It's just awesome! We would play with little pebbles, Legos, plastic toys and even ANTS, for the "citizens" of our cities.

So... as for this activity, I got hyped again because it's been years since I made one.
Since there is scarcely anything left at home to use as materials (school projects season is so over in our family), we had a hard time gathering what we need.

We managed to gather:
Old color markers
Crayons
Stamps
Colored Papers
Bond paper
Liquid Glue
Tape (the wide one you use in packages)
Aluminum Foil
Folders
Cutter
Scissors

We used an old Shoe box as the main frame/base of our dollhouse.
Here are the WIP pictures of our Shoebox House.

Overview

That's all for now. I gave it to Angela when it was time to go home. Maybe we're not going to finish it after all, because there'll be some time before I can have quality time again with them. And this would go missing or ruined hahaha. (there's this problem with my cousins, they can't seem to keep things/toys in good condition)

So, I'll end it here. As Froggy Stuff likes to say it, "Happy Crafting!"

Avon Simply Pretty Lip & Cheek Tint

Hello there!

I'm gonna make a very late review of my Avon Simply Pretty Lip & Cheek Tint. I just want to share to you my experience with using it.

I've bought this way earlier than my first-ever lipstick. I used this more as a Cheek Tint since I was using a DIY lip balm for my lips before. As you can see, I don't do the typical make-up routine for myself at all. I am more of a loose-powder-lip-balm gal. This is my second bottle now, and I think I'll stick to it for a while, without trying any.

I bought this because people frequently tell me I'm very pale and I look sick. ( ̄∩ ̄#
Argh, so I tried something that would give a little life to my oh-so-plain face.

Let's Start:

Avon Simply Pretty Lip & Cheek Tint
9ml
in Pink Blush
Price: Php139.00 (without dealer's discount)

Let's read the Tint's claim:
A rosy tint for naturally pinkish lips and blushing cheeks that lasts for hours.

Instructions for Use:
For lips, apply to upper and lower lips. Press lips together to blend. For cheeks, apply small streak on each cheek and blend evenly with fingers to achieve a sheer finish.
a roll-on type of applicator. not messy at all.

And here is the swatch... Gives skin a sheer pinkish blush.
Ingredients:
Water, Propylene Glycol, Glycereth-7 Triacetate, Polysorbate 20, Triethalonamine, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, SD Alcohol 40-B, Disodium EDTA, Carbomer, Fragrance.
May contain: CI 17200, CI 14700, CI 16035.

* I have come to learn that long-term use of some of these ingredients aren't beneficial. It made me more conscious of what to buy. I tell you, read labels first and search for these ingredients. I know it's a bit tedious but it's worth it. You'll know more about the stuffs you've been feeding your skin with. This site: http://www.ewg.org/ is a start to see whether ingredients and chemicals are detrimental to our health.

Yays:
> Sheer color, not too red, thus gives a natural blush.
> Doesn't dry too fast, making it easier to blend.
> Handy
>Affordable, unlike other tints i.e. Benetint, which I read costs 1k+!
> Didn't cause my skin to break out, itch, or dry out.

Ughs:
> Doesn't dry easily. Funny coz it's also a downside. It's so slow to dry! I need to face an electric fan, or fan it with my hands to let it settle onto my face. I fan for about 2-3 minutes to let it dry.
> IMO, Color doesn't last long. I think it lasts for about 30 minutes to an hour.
> I have to apply lots of streaks before I can achieve the sheer color it claims. (This is for the Cherry Pop shade, as for the Pink Blush, it already gives me a good blush, with just a few streaks)
>I don't always apply it on my lips, why? It is not moisturizing and tastes bitter.

That's it. All of these are my personal experience. It doesn't mean it would surely happen to you, case that you decide to try it.

Avon Simply Pretty ColorBliss Lipstick Review

My first ever review is on my first ever lipstick! You read it right! Consider me a late bloomer but that's the truth, I'm 21 and I just bought my first owned lipstick. It's better late than never, at least, diba. I got to buy and use one. So now, what has been my experience? Let's start.

I bought from Avon because of the rave among my co-workers since a colleague applied for a membership in the Avon company. You know, those catalog things... Peer-pressure pushed me to think that since Avon cosmetics are affordable and usually on sale, it's about time that I buy one for myself since "dalaga" na ako. They agreed with a laugh at my thought and felt very excited, the feeling where you discover a little lady asking you for make-up advice and all you want to do is "bagay sa yo 'to, bagay sa yo yan!". I said I wanted to try a lipstick and they are the ones to choose for me the right color. (Remember, it's my first time so I don't even know what shade or color suits me.)

They chose for me Avon Simply Pretty ColorBliss Lipstick in Fresh Melon (CB06). I don't know why, but they said the color is soooo cute. So I ordered it.

I'm sorry because I can't show you pictures of it in it's packaging since I bought it weeks ago. But it doesn't come with a box, just a cheap plastic wrapper, where ingredients and the expiration date is written.

*ze lipstick. Pardon for the poor quality image.

*opened. Cute Color.
*Here's the swatch.

*I only applied a thin coat, because I don't want it to be flashy or showy. That's how I use it at work. Also I have dry lips! Taken outside, at 5:30pm
*taken indoors.

 Yays:
> I like it's cute color/shade whatever you call it.
>The smell is pleasant for me, not the usual cosmeticky one.
> Affordable. It's on sale when I bought it. Regular price is I think Php135.00. I bought it at only Php 100.00!
> It could last me for months. It gots 4g of lipstick.
> Not shimmery. A good one for me. Gives a matte finish. (If you like shimmers, this is one is not for you.)
> Makes lips soft at first minutes of application. About 45 minutes to an hour for me.

Ughs:
> Softness, color and the moisturized feeling doesn't last long. I lengthen it by applying lip balm first and then the lipstick. I wet my lips a lot (a habit I should immediately inhibit, now that I'm starting to use lip cosmetics).
> After weeks of using it, my lips became dryer. I don't know if the lipstick did it. I also think other factors affected it, since my lips are naturally dry in the first place. But I've said, it made my lips dry-ER.

There you have it. I don't think I'll repurchase it since I know I can find better products than this. Also, I am planning to try Human Heart Nature's Tinted Lip Balm soon. Cha Wait for it!

Thankieyow!
